The unique Game Lodge and Guest Houses in the Western Cape
Doornbosch Game Lodge & Guest Houses is a wonderful getaway in the midst of South Africa’s southernmost area – the Western Cape. The country retreat is set in the heart of the rural Overberg, just a 2 hour drive from Cape Town, at the start of the famous Garden Route.
Our guests experience a special stay in absolute tranquillity in one of our five comfortable, self-catering holiday hideaways. Life here is relaxed, quiet and unspoiled – at a place where “getting away from it all” is really possible.
But that does not mean there is nothing to do or no activities to explore. At Doornbosch Game Lodge in the Western Cape you can go on exciting game drives or ride a gentle horse over the hills and through the beautiful fynbos. Hiking, biking and bird watching are the best pastimes on the 5000 ha farm besides relaxing at your private fireplace or resting at the outdoor pool.
And our neighbourhood has a lot to offer too. Enjoy whale watching at the white beaches of Pearly Beach or stroll through the scenic mission village Elim. Visit Cape Agulhas, the southernmost tip of Africa or drive to Arniston for the famous fresh wild oysters. Wine tastings at prized wine estates can be arranged as well as golf rounds on one of the spectacular Golf Courses nearby. Or just relax and enjoy your time with us!

OUR GUESTHOUSES
Our five guesthouses offer absolute privacy and utmost comfort. Perfect for couples, friends and families. Your children and pets are welcome at any time. Our houses can accommodate from 2 to 8 guests, for weekend getaways, honeymoons, family holidays and functions. Each self-catering house has a fully equipped kitchen, en suite baths, indoor and outdoor fireplaces, a private terrace with braai facilities and sun beds. All guests have access to the crystal clear pool, secure parking, the organic vegetable garden (depends on season) and free access to walk and enjoy nature.

CHECK IN / CHECK OUT / SERVICES
Check in from 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm.
Later Check inns must be arranged prior to arrival.
Check out until 10:00 am.
Cleaning service daily (except Sundays, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day).
Changing of towels and linens every three days or upon special request.
Upon arrival you will be welcomed at the gate of Doornbosch Game Lodge by our manager.
Please be advised that we do not accept walk ins.
BREAKFAST / RESTAURANTS / SHOPPING
You can book our guesthouses self-catering or with breakfast basket (R 160 per person per day).
Our hearty country breakfast basket includes organic farm eggs, bacon, cheese, mushrooms, tomatoes, seasonal fruit, fruit juice, yoghurt, muesli, bread and butter. Please book with your booking of accommodation.
And don´t forget to taste our fantastic organic farm honey.
We provide coffee and tea, fresh milk, sugar, salt, pepper, oil and vinegar in each house.
We stock bottled water and soft drinks upon arrival in the fridge. You pay what you consume when checking out. Please check the price list in the house.
For larger groups and functions we can arrange barbecues. Please enquire when you book.
PLEASE SHOP ALL PERSONAL GROCERIES BEFORE CHECKING IN.
THE CLOSEST GROCERY STORES ARE IN GANSBAAI AND BREDASDORP (30 km).
Restaurants close by at Marietjie´s 10 minutes, Pearly Beach 15 minutes, Black Oystercatcher 20 minutes and in Gansbaai 30 minutes.

You can bring your own horse(s) to spend a riding holiday. All visiting horses must have valid passports. Ground levy applies. R 200 will be charged per horse.
GAME DRIVES / HORSE RIDING
Game drives can be booked to encounter springbok, zebra, eland, fallow feer, grey rRoebuck, steenbok, duiker, klipspringer, ostrich, many birds and a lot more small animals.
All game drives will be guided and operated by our managers in a 4 x 4.
1 hour game drive R 400 per person (with minimum of 2 persons)
All rides take place in open country on the farm. We have a qualified instructor and guide who will accompany you on all the rides. We take care to match the horse and rider, depending on experience, and ability. Maximum weight 100 kg.
Horses are available for beginners, intermediate and accomplished riders. All rides take place at your own risk. We reserve the right to decide if a person is suitable for riding.
Groups of riders with own horses are welcome. All visiting horses must have valid passports.
Ground levy applies. R 200 will be charged per horse.
Riding holidays upon request.
